School Counseling Week Feb. 1-5
February 1-5 is National School Counseling Week, an annual event in which students, faculty and staff have an opportunity to pay special tribute to school counselors for their dedication to Plano ISD's 55,000 students.
At the February 2 meeting of the Plano ISD Board of Trustees, Counseling and Guidance Director Paul Weaver and school counselors will present a report about the district's counseling and guidance program. Mr. Weaver will also announce three schools who recently earned state CREST awards for their school's comprehensive counseling programs. |

Plano West Senior One of 40 Finalists in National Intel Science Talent Search
Elisa Lin, Plano West senior, has been selected as one of 40 high school seniors from across the country as a finalist in the Intel Science Talent Search 2010. She will travel to Washington, D.C. in March to compete for $630,000 in awards.  |

February 2 Meeting Agenda - School trustees will meet at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, February 2, at the Plano ISD Administration Building, 2700 W. 15th Street. Following is a brief list of agenda items. View the full agenda and related links on BoardBook .
- Trustees will celebrate recognitions for National School Counseling Week, the Texas Comptroller's Gold Leadership Circle Award and NCEA Just 4 the Kids Higher Performing Schools.
- "Consent Agenda" items for approval by the board include routine business such as bids and purchases.
- Reports will presented on NCEA Just 4 the Kids Methodology, the district budget and on the AEIS Annual Report and Public Hearing.
- Policies to be approved are FFAA (Local) Wellness and Health Services: Physical Examinations, TASB Localized Policy Manual Update 86 and EIF (Local) Academic Achievement: Graduation.
