Trustees Pursue Study of Williams Academy, Schedule December 1 Community Input Session Prior to Voting on Feeder School Alignment
The Plano ISD Board of Trustees met in a work session on November 17 to discuss the school feeder alignment process. Having met within their board sub-committees during the previous weeks, trustees are pursuing study of a plan referred to as Option 3 at the work session and are seeking additional community input before their formal vote scheduled for December 15. Option 3 proposes to convert Williams High School into an academy for grades 9-12 opening in 2012. The public input session is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, December 1, at Sockwell Center, 6301 Chapel Hill Blvd. in Plano. The December 15 school board meeting will be held at 7:00 p.m. at Sockwell.
Principal Michele Loper and the students and staff at Barron Elementary School invite you to join them at a "rededication" ceremony for the school to be held the evening of December 3. Barron opened in 1971 as an elementary school and was converted to an early childhood school in 2002. With the opening of Isaacs Early Childhood School this year, Barron has been converted back to an elementary campus.
