Plano ISD's annual Recruitment Open House for teachers, counselors and librarians will be held on Saturday, March 27, at Renner Middle School. Administrators representing each Plano ISD school will attend the open house to discuss potential job opportunities on their campuses. Teachers who are considered to be "Highly Qualified" under "No Child Left Behind" will be admitted to the open house. Applicants can pre-register through February 19 on the district website.

AVID Program Reaches Milestone
2010 is a milestone year for Plano ISD’s Advancement Via Individual Determination (AVID) program. Launched in 2006, the college readiness program will graduate its first class of seniors this year. Read student testimonials and view a video of AVID students presenting their success stories to school principals.
The Plano ISD Board of Trustees approved several administrative appointment recommendations at their January and February school board meetings. Among the assignments are principalships, assistant principalships and four positions in the academic services department.
Former Superintendent Wayne Hendrick Visits His Namesake School This Week
Dr. H. Wayne Hendrick (Plano ISD Superintendent from 1961-1991) was guest of honor this week at his namesake school, Hendrick Middle School. Hendrick faculty, staff and students presented him with gifts, sang songs and showed him results of the school's recent 20-year renovation.
