New Student Registration Have you heard? New student registration is right around the corner. Secondary schools are scheduling appointments now for these dates: Aug. 3, 4 and 5 (high schools); Aug. 6, 7 & 10 (middle schools); and senior high schools (counselors return Aug. 3). Elementary schools will register new students on August 13 & 14 (no appointment necessary). Find more registration details on our website.

Volunteer to Make a Difference
Educating children is a big job, and schools cannot do it alone. Parents and members of the community are encouraged and welcome to participate as volunteers to help meet the needs of students in the district. Join the team now by completing the required online volunteer application.
Former Deputy Returns to Plano ISD Danny Modisette returned to Plano ISD this week to serve as deputy superintendent, filling the position left vacant in April. Mr. Modisette spent 28 of his 37 years in public education at Plano ISD. He retired in 2007 and has since spent his time away fostering his advocacy of public education.
New Foundation President Dreams Big
As Plano ISD Education Foundation president-elect and development chair last school year, Beth Webb put her heart into campaigns which resulted in more than $1 million to benefit Plano schools. With the success of these and other fundraising efforts, Ms. Webb plans aggressive development for 2009-10 as the Foundation's new president.

The Plano ISD Board of Trustees will conduct its first business meeting of the school year at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, August 4, at the Plano ISD Administration Building, 2700 West 15th Street in Plano.
