Trustees Invite Community to October 11 Town Hall Meeting
Meet in person with the Plano ISD Board of Trustees at its first town hall meeting of the school year to be held from 7:00 to 8:30 p.m. on Monday, October 11, in the Clark High School Library, 523 Spring Creek Parkway, Plano 75023.
Superintendent of Schools Dr. Doug Otto will present information on the topic of digital learning environments. The meeting will also provide the public time for informal conversation with trustees.

Plano Council of PTAs Invites Community to Drug Prevention & Awareness Program
The Plano ISD Council of PTAs invites parents to attend a community drug prevention and awareness program at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, November 10, at the Plano ISD Administration Building, 2700 W. 15th Street. Speakers will include Senator Florence Shapiro, the Plano Police Narcotics Unit and a local pharmacist. View flyer

Annual Community Honor Roll Campaign
The Plano ISD Education Foundation is proud to continue its annual community honor roll program. Show your support with a $50 or more donation and receive an "I Love Plano ISD" yard sign to proudly display your support for Plano schools. The funds provided to the district by the Foundation remain in Plano ISD and are not subject to recapture by the state. The Foundation funds priority programs identified by the district. Building strong schools builds strong communities. Every gift matters. The greatest investment any of us can make is in the future of our children. Participate today!

October 5 Regular Meeting -- Trustees met this week in regular session. View the complete agenda on BoardBook . The meeting video can be viewed on Plano Time-Warner Cable Channel 99 and Verizon FIOS 33 at 8:00 p.m. on Mondays and Wednesdays and on Saturdays at noon and 8:00 p.m. The full length meeting video is posted on pisdtv . A meeting summary follows.
- Recognitions - "Texas Human Resources Day" and "2010 Best Places to Work in D/FW" Award.
- Consent Agenda - routine business items such as bids, purchases, budget items, advisory committee appointments, and more.
- Administrative Appointment - The following appointment was announced: Sonja Pegram, Renner Middle School administrative intern
- Bond Sale, Series 2010 - Trustees considered all matters incident and related to the issuance and sale of Plano ISD Unlimited Tax Refunding Bonds.
- State Financial Rating - Public Hearing on Schools FIRST (Financial Integrity Rating System of Texas) rating for Plano ISD (Read full article).
- Reports - Digital Booktalks, Professional Development Update and Academy Visioning Committee Update.
- Policies - FDB(LOCAL) Admissions: Intradistrict Transfers and Classroom Assignments, on second reading.
The school board will meet next in a work session to be held at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday, October 19, at the Sockwell Center.
