Speakers will include Senator Florence Shapiro, the Plano Police Narcotics Unit and a local pharmacist. View flyer

Academy Visioning Committee Hears Public Input

The Plano ISD Academy Visioning Committee hosted an education summit on November 3 to share its findings with parents and patrons and to solicit public input on an important district initiative. Committee members presented an overview of their work so far, including ideas for the academy's educational focus. Guests visited with committee members who facilitated table discussions and served as resources. Each table group posted concerns and interests to the larger group via a shared electronic work space. 		Otto Middle School Dedication Nov. 15 The Plano ISD Board of Trustees invites the community to attend the dedication ceremony for Douglas Otto Middle School, named in honor of current Superintendent of Schools Dr. Douglas Otto. The event will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Monday, November 15, at the school, which is located at 504 North Star Road in Plano. View the dedication invitation for parking information and a map.

		Holiday Art Contest Photo Gallery "Illuminating the Season" was the theme for Plano ISD's 2010 Holiday Art Contest. Visit our Holiday Art Photo Gallery online to view the judges' top 40 picks, including finalists' artwork. The contest attracted more than 1,000 entries from students in grades PreK-12. Greeting cards featuring the winning art may be purchased through the Plano ISD Education Foundation website using the official order form .

		Capital One Hosts 'Book Day' for Families Enrolled at Plano Family Literacy Center Capital One’s mortgage team recently delivered nearly 500 books and a grant for $25,000 to the Plano Family Literacy Program. The Capital One contributions represent continued support for schools and programs in Plano ISD and a committed partnership with the Plano ISD Education Foundation.

		View Textbooks Through January 14 Textbooks that are up for adoption are available for review by the public from 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday, through January 14, 2011, on school days at the Plano ISD Administration Building and at Region 10 Education Service Center.
