Plano ISD's 55,000 students and 7,000 faculty and staff members have generously collected and donated food, clothing and gifts for North Texas families in need this holiday season. The Plano ISD family of students and staff reported their many acts of kindness sponsored by student groups, employees and PTAs. Dallas Cowboys' Felix Jones joined Wells Elementary School students and staff in the fight against hunger during a SLANT 45 event sponsored in part by the Plano ISD Education Foundation, Bank of America, Big Thought and more. SLANT 45 events have been held in several Plano schools this fall. read

Jim Dunlap Retires After 34 Years of Teaching School Children About Nature

Plano ISD's living materials center curator/instructor Jim Dunlap retired this week following 34 years of teaching students and adults about nature and the environment. His legacy will live on with the staff at the newly-named Jim Dunlap Living Materials Center, which houses 200 critters he's rescued throughout the years. read
