Education Foundation Thanks Major Donors, Announces $900,000 Fundraising Effort for 2010-11

Foundation DonorThe Plano ISD Education Foundation board of directors validated last week the nonprofit organization’s importance to Plano ISD, as President Michael Urtso proudly announced that the group raised more than $900,000 this school year. Approximately 100 attendees celebrated this investment in public education at a donor recognition event held on May 17 at Gleneagles Country Club.read

Advisory Committees Honored by Board

Students, faculty and staff members and community leaders who served on district advisory committees this school year were recognized by school trustees and district administrators at a recent appreciation reception held at Plano ISD's Sockwell Center. Reception guests served on nine district advisory committees. read

Bank of America Donates $10,000
to Plano Family Literacy Program

Bank of America recently awarded a $10,000 grant to the Plano ISD Education Foundation to support critical services offered by the school district to economically disadvantaged families through the Plano Family Literacy Program. read
School Board Update

May 24 Meeting ~ School trustees will meet at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, May 24, at the Plano ISD Administration Building, 2700 W. 15th Street. The agenda, with links to supporting documents, is posted on BoardBook opens in new window.

May 31 & June 14 Meetings ~ Trustees will meet again in regular sessions to be held at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesdays, May 31 and June 14, at the Plano ISD Administration Building. On May 31, two newly-elected trustees will take the oath of office, and trustees will elect officers for the 2011-12 school year.
