June 7 Graduation: A Multi-Media Event

Plano ISD will celebrate graduation on June 7 at the Dallas Convention Center with three multi-media events. Live TV broadcasts and webcasts will allow friends and family near and far to take part. Our graduation website includes information about the ceremonies, including policies of the convention center and school district.

Career & Tech Student Achievements

Nearly 100 Plano ISD Career and Technical Education students advanced to national / international level competitions in various co-curricular organizations. Scott Yoon (pictured), culinary arts student, is among the top awardees. Congratulations to all students, staff and organizations for their success at state level events. New School Principal Appointments 
Principal and assistant principal appointments were announced recently by Superintendent of Schools Dr. Doug Otto. Meet these new leaders who will serve at Barksdale, Centennial, Hickey, McCall, Schell, Sigler and Stinson elementary schools, Hendrick Middle School and McMillen High School.

May 24 Meeting ~ School trustees met on May 24 at the Plano ISD Administration Building. The agenda, with links to supporting documents, is posted on BoardBook.
May 31 Special Called Meeting ~ On May 31, two newly-elected trustees, Michael Friedman and David Stolle, took the oath of office. At the same meeting, the school board elected officers for the 2011-12 school year. They are Tammy Richards, president; Nancy Humphrey, vice president; and Marilyn Hinton, secretary. June 14 Meeting ~ Trustees will meet again in regular session at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, June 14, at the Plano ISD Administration Building, 2700 W. 15th Street. This meeting reflects a change from the original schedule. The agenda with links to supporting information, will be posted on BoardBook.
