Cultural Competency Training Builds Bridges for Student & Staff Success

This summer, teachers from every Plano ISD campus were trained to provide training in cultural competency to the employees at their schools. The training is part of a multi-year school board initiative designed as a learning opportunity to enhance cultural competence among employees and their relationships with students, parents and colleagues.read

4th Annual District Team Leader Academy Aims to Strengthen Classroom Teaching

The curtain rose daily at 8:30 a.m.July 12 through 16 in the Dallas Room of Plano ISD's Sockwell Center, as 220 teacher team leaders from across the school district gathered to explore facets of educational leadership. They shared strengths, picked up pointers from one another and hones new skills.read

Free Community Health Fair August 28

A free community health fair will be held from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, August 28, at Vines High School. The event, sponsored by the central "wildcat" cluster, will include health screenings, an opportunity to meet with representatives from community organizations and more.read

August 17 Work Session - The Plano ISD Board of Trustees will conduct a work session at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday, August 17, at Sockwell Center. Trustees will hear a 2009-10 District Goals Report from Superintendent of Schools Dr. Doug Otto.
