Four Plano ISD Student Music Groups Capture 'Mark of Excellence' National Awards

Four Plano ISD music groups have earned "Mark of Excellence" awards for their 2010-11 performance recordings that were judged in a national competition hosted by the Foundation for Music Education. Named "National Winners" were the Plano East Senior High School Wind Ensemble and Shepton High School Chamber Orchestra. Plano ISD is seeking the talent of students to design artwork for its 2011 holiday greeting card. This year’s contest theme is “Holiday Joy.” Contest sponsor is Webb & Webb, P.C. Attorneys & Counselors at Law. The winner will earn $150 in U.S. Savings Bonds. READ
School Board Update

October 4 Special Called Meeting ~ Trustees will hold a special called meeting at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday, October 4, at the Plano ISD Administration Building, 2700 W. 15th Street in Plano, to conduct a public hearing on the Schools FIRST (Financial Integrity Rating System of Texas) report. Plano ISD received the highest rating of "Superior Achievement" in this eighth consecutive state financial accountability rating system report. This rating is based upon an analysis of staff and student data reported for the 2009-10 school year and budgetary and actual financial data for the fiscal year ending June 30, 2010.
