Artwork on Exhibit

Several students' artwork is currently on exhibit in Plano and Dallas.
Also, a Plano ISD student's artwork was selected to
hang in the Texas Governor's office.
State Youth Art Month Exhibit

High School was selected among 10 pieces of art to
be hung in the Texas Governor’s
Office for one year. Deborah Moore is her art teacher.
One hundred art pieces from throughout the state were
selected to be in the Texas
Art Education Association Youth Art Month Exhibit during
the month of March. As a special honor, the 10 pieces
were selected to be framed
for the Governor’s office. The students, teachers and parents
will be invited to a special reception in June with
the Governor. Also exhibited in March was the artwork
of these Plano ISD students:
Katherine Jung, 2nd Grade, Daffron Elementary (Teacher:
Mindy Dember) and Haley Wessels, 8th Grade, Frankford
Middle School (Teacher: Jennifer
Stewart).
ArtCentre of Plano 'AP Art Senior Exhibit'
The exhibit features the artwork of more than 75 students
from Plano East, Plano and Plano West senior high schools.
Art varies in mediums from acrylics and oils to pencil
sketches and sculptures.
An opening reception, sponsored by Ernst & Young, will be held
from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Friday, April 22, at the
ArtCentre, 1039 E. 15th Street in historic downtown Plano. The public
is invited.
Admission is free. The Plano Art Association will also
award nine students with cash awards at the April 22 event.
Dallas Museum of Art 'Young Masters Exhibit'
This exhibit includes the artwork of 36 Advanced
Placement Studio Art students’ work from 14 area high schools.
Award winners in the exhibit from Plano ISD included
Jennie Chong, Plano Senior
High School (2nd Place); and Honorable Mention Awardees
Kelli Gross, Plano East Senior High School; Mary Huang
and Chrissy Hudman, Plano
Senior High School; and Marielle LeGrow, Plano West
Senior High School. Students were recognized at an
April 5 reception at the DMA. Also
exhibited is artwork from these Plano ISD students:
Plano East - Irandira Alonso, Eva Kendrick, Mark Salazar
and Adam Wright; Plano Senior High
School – Kelly Cloninger and Sonya To; and Plano West – Leisa
Bailey and Finley Rodgers. View student artwork from
