Mendenhall Elementary School choir students, under the direction of Cindy Fox and Myra Sutton, performed songs for the more than 350 guests.

guests gave her a standing ovation.

  

John Muns, school trustee and former school board
president, called Dr. Bird a "mentor with integrity and
honesty, who truly cares about Plano ISD's students,
parents, faculty, staff and volunteers."

   Bryan Bird, son of the school namesakes
and Dooley Elementary School principal,
provided a touching and humorous
testimonial about his father.

and special guests, who included Mayor Pat Evans
who read a City Proclamation in Dr. Bird's honor.		   The Bird grandchildren and special guests, visited "Mr. Chips," Amber Harsh's 2nd grade classroom pet.
