Enjoying the humor that highlighted much of Dr. Bird's speech, were stage guests Carolyn Bird and Doug Otto.

Mendenhall Elementary School choir students, under the direction of Cindy Fox and Myra Sutton, performed songs for the more than 350 guests.

about her experience at the school. Afterwards,
guests gave her a standing ovation.

 

John Muns, school trustee and former school board
president, called Dr. Bird a "mentor with integrity and
honesty, who truly cares about Plano ISD's students,
parents, faculty, staff and volunteers."

  Bryan Bird, son of the school namesakes
and Dooley Elementary School principal,
provided a touching and humorous
testimonial about his father.
