Today, he continues his legacy of leadership as a Plano ISD Trustee and Rotary Camp RYLA (Rotary Youth Leadership Award) board member and counselor.

He has been a practicing CPA (certified public accountant) for 27 years in the Plano area. He holds a bachelor's degree in accounting and a master's degree in finance from Michigan State University.

About Leadership Plano

In addition to the DLA presentation to Mr. Jenkins, the April 26 reception will include information about the Leadership Plano curriculum, program requirements, selection criteria and the application process. Anyone interested in applying or learning more about the program is encouraged to attend.

Each year, up to 30 candidates representing a diverse cross-section of the public, private and non-profit sector are selected for the nine-month leadership development and community awareness program. The program begins with a mandatory two-day retreat on the third Saturday and Sunday in September. Tuition is $800 for Plano Chamber of Commerce members and $900 for non-members.

A limited number of scholarships are available for applicants representing non-profit agencies or individuals who require financial assistance. Applications may be picked up at the April 26 reception, at the Plano Chamber of Commerce, or may be found on the Leadership Plano website. The deadline for applications for the class beginning in September 2005 is June 15.
