PTAs
to Honor Nearly 200 Individuals with Life Memberships
February 17, 2005
PTA members unlock the future, and Texas
PTA Life Members are the “Keys
to the Future.” That is the theme for the PTA Life Membership
Banquet to be held at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday, February
24, at Southfork Ranch.
The event’s
featured speaker will be Nancy Barry of “The Dallas Morning
News.” Honored
guests will be the new Texas
PTA Life Members (10k)
who are receiving Honorary Texas PTA Life Memberships,
one of the highest honors that can be bestowed upon
an individual by Texas
PTA for outstanding contributions to the education
of children and youth.
“The Extended Honor is for a person who has given 10 years
or more to enhancing the education of youth,” said Ann Boswell,
Plano ISD Council of PTAs, who noted that more than
160 recipients, chosen at their 65 local campuses,
will be honored on the special evening. They will join more
than 1,800 past honorees from Plano.
“It is the overwhelming
collaboration between educators and families in Plano
ISD that produces educated, prepared students, and
enriches all of our
lives,” said Ms. Boswell.
