Ski Plano Raises Significant Funds for Education Foundation

Ski Plano 2005, the annual gala evening fundraiser of the Plano ISD Education Foundation, raised more than $75,000 to benefit students, faculty, staff and schools. The event drew more than 500 business and community leaders, Plano ISD teachers and administrators and Foundation board members.

Under the leadership of Betty Wright, Foundation board member, the Ski Plano committee presented an evening of fun and games with a definite purpose - to focus attention on the community’s opportunities to support academic achievement for all Plano ISD students through support of the Foundation.

Live Auction Items

• Huffines Auto Group donated six pieces of PISD student artwork from the Texas Values Series
• The Frisco RoughRiders donated an entertainment suite
• Karen Dillard donated a College Prep course; these items were auctioned live at the event.
• Neiman Marcus donated a $1,000 gift card for the Luck of the Draw prize.
• Bradley Graphics & Print, Chandler’s Cuisine, Dr Pepper Bottling Company, Main Event Entertainment and Wishbone Graphics/Plano Profile provided generous in-kind donations.

In total, area merchants and community members donated more than $35,000 worth of prizes and auction merchandise to the event.
