Tropical flowers, island music and Caribbean-inspired fare beckoned Plano ISD’s more than 120 Teachers of the Year and Beginning Teachers of the Year to relax and enjoy a little well-deserved pampering at a luncheon sponsored by Medical Center of Plano and held at the Hilton Garden Inn in Allen on May 2. Nominees posed for portraits with “Captain” Doug Otto and school trustees, mingled with their peers and principals and anticipated the excitement of the 2005 Plano ISD Teacher of the Year Gala, “Passport to Paradise,” held on May 12 at Plano Centre.
