Board Approves 2006-07 Administrative Appointments
May 9, 2006
Several administrative appointments were approved by the school
board at their May 2 meeting. The following employees
were recommended by Superintendent of Schools Dr. Doug Otto to
begin new duties on
July 1, 2006.
Elementary
School Principals
 Bryan
Bird, Meadows Elementary School – Bryan
served as a fifth grade teacher, beginning in 1994, at Weatherford.
He also taught at Carlisle and served as
team leader at Barron. He joined Miller as principal intern in 1998 and has
served as Dooley principal since 2000.
 Wendy
DeSpain, Memorial Elementary School – Wendy
has experience as a principal intern, most recently at Wyatt, and in previous
years at Skaggs, Memorial, and Hedgcoxe. Prior to that, she taught at Skaggs
and Memorial.
 Sue Loomis, Dooley Elementary
School – Sue began her career in
PISD in 2000, serving two years as director of the Plano West Senior High
School Early Learning
Center. She later served as principal intern at Wyatt, Miller and, most recently,
at Rasor.
 Jun Melvin, Harrington Elementary
School – Jun
taught in Normangee, College Station and Carrollton-Farmers Branch,
prior to joining PISD as literacy
specialist at Sigler in 2003. She has served as principal intern at
Memorial since 2004.
 Pam
Murray, Barksdale Elementary School – During the past eight
years, Pam has led Mitchell as its principal. She began teaching in PISD
in 1984 at
Saigling. She later taught at Brinker, served as an administrative intern/teacher
at Robinson Middle School, and served as principal intern at Rose Mary Haggar.
 Linda Patrick, Mitchell Elementary
School – Celebrating her 10th anniversary
in Plano ISD, Linda has taught at Jackson, followed by consecutive principal
internships at Haun and Mitchell, at Mitchell and Jackson and, most recently,
at Huffman.
Secondary School Principals
 Selenda
Anderson, Wilson Middle School – Selenda
joined the Wilson staff in 2002 as administrative intern. This
year, she has served as assistant principal. Prior to joining PISD,
she taught at elementary schools in Texas, Virginia and North Carolina.
 George
King, Bowman Middle School – George has
served as principal at Wilson since 2002. He began teaching in
1989 at Williams High School and has taught at Vines High School.
He later served as assistant principal at Williams and at Frankford
Middle School.
 Gail
Stelter, Rice Middle School – Serving
nearly 10 years in PISD, Gail has taught special education at Clark
and Vines high schools and served as administrative intern and
assistant principal at Rice.
 Renee
William, Frankford Middle School (Assistant Principal) – Renee
taught at Frankford for four years, starting in 1999. She has
served the past two years as Frankford’s
administrative intern.
District Administrator
 Russell Schuler, Assistant Athletic Director – Russ
joined the Renner Middle School staff as coach/team leader in 1999.
Since 2003, he has taught at Murphy Middle and Boggess Elementary
schools and served as Kimbrough Stadium Manager.
