Specialist Honored
by Plano Community Forum

 Memorial Elementary School Literacy Specialist Ann Gray
was honored with an "Educator Award" for outstanding community
service on October 22 during the Plano Community Forum’s
23rd Annual Banquet.
Ms. Gray, a literacy specialist,
dyslexia instructor, curriculum coordinator and former classroom
teacher, helped write the third grade continuum for the Plano ISD
language arts curriculum guide in 2003, assisted in the revision
of the
district’s dyslexia parent information booklet in 2004 and
contributed to the development of the balanced literacy lesson
plans for Plano ISD.
She worked with Memorial business partner Medical Center
of Plano to initiate programs to assist economically disadvantaged
students by developing an annual $1,000 scholarship for Camp Classen,
an annual $1,000 college scholarship for a graduating senior who
attended Memorial as well as a holiday gifting initiative for financially-disadvantaged
families.
