Larry
D. Guinn Special Programs Center Dedication - September
19
August 22, 2005
The
Plano Independent School District Board of Trustees invites the
community to attend a celebration dedicating the Larry D. Guinn
Special Programs Center to be held at 7:00 p.m. on Monday, September
19, at the center, which is located at the northwest corner of
Custer and Legacy Drives in Plano. A reception and facility tours
will follow the ceremony.
Larry Guinn’s career in Plano schools
spanned more than 30 years, prior to his retirement in 2004 as
executive director of student services. Among Plano ISD’s “100
Heroes” honored in 1999 during the
school district’s centennial celebration, Mr. Guinn played
an integral role in the development of the student services department
and programs, implementation of a districtwide discipline management
plan and opening of the special programs
centers.
The center named in his honor is led by Principal Jack
Worsham and serves students in grades 9-12.
