Deputy
Superintendent Danny Modisette Retiring from Plano
ISD
Jeff Bailey Named as His Successor
Plano ISD Superintendent of Schools Dr. Doug Otto accepted the
retirement announcement of Deputy Superintendent Danny
Modisette on March 29. Mr. Modisette, who will complete 37
years in public education at the conclusion of his contract in
June, 2007,
has elected to consider other opportunities that will continue
to foster his advocacy of public education.
His 28 years in Plano ISD included serving as a teacher,
coach and assistant principal at Clark High School, five years
as Haggard Middle School principal, two years as executive director
of human resources and concludes with his seven-year post as deputy
superintendent.
Before joining the Plano ISD family of employees in 1979, Mr.
Modisette taught social studies in Goose Creek ISD (1970-1976)
and Silsbee ISD (1976-1979).
“I have been blessed with so much in Plano. The opportunity
to grow as a teacher and administrator exceeded the dreams of the
young man who helped open Clark High School as a teacher and tennis
coach. I have learned so much from the talented students, teachers,
administrators, trustees and members of the community,” stated
Mr. Modisette.
“I congratulate Danny on his many years of service to Plano
ISD and marvel at the capacity of his commitment and dedication
to our district," stated Dr. Otto. "He exits Plano ISD with the
respect and admiration of many as he considers new opportunities
in his
life.
I anticipate
new heights of achievements in his continued role as an advocate
for school children. It has been a pleasure to have him as my partner
in his service as deputy superintendent.”
Jeff Bailey Named as New Deputy Superintendent
With this retirement announcement, Dr. Otto is naming Jeff
Bailey as deputy superintendent. Mr. Bailey currently serves as the east
cluster area assistant superintendent.
“It
is an honor to have the privilege to serve Plano ISD and Doug Otto
as the deputy
superintendent. I have a great deal of respect for Danny Modisette
and the many contributions he has made to the district and community,"
said Mr. Bailey. "I will gratefully accept this position with the
charge of continuing the standard of excellence modeled by Mr.
Modisette."
Mr. Bailey continued, "The
past ten years as the east cluster area assistant superintendent
have afforded
me professional growth and crucial experience in preparation for
this change. I so appreciate that I will still be connected to
the east cluster in my new role. I accept this new challenge with
the knowledge that I will be working with gifted educators across
the district as a whole.”
