Three Plano Students Named Semifinalists in Science Challenge

Three Plano ISD students have earned Semifinalist standing in the prestigious "Discovery Young Scientist Challenge." They are among 400 semifinalists selected from 43 states and Puerto Rico.

Students and their science fair entries which earned them semifinalist standing are:

  • Vybhavi Bharadwaj
    Renner Middle School
    "Foggy Colors"
  • Neil D'Souza
    Vines High School
    "Zzzz.....Zip it!"
  • Ellen Hsieh
    Jasper High School
    "Hurry up! It's Time for You to Ripen"

The Discovery Channel Young Scientist Challenge is the nation’s premier science contest for students in grades 5-8. The competition, created by Discovery Communications, gives students the opportunity to test their knowledge and push their limits as they explore the world of science.
