Elementary Recognized
for Architectural Excellence

McCall
Elementary School has been recognized for excellence in planning
and design for new construction in the 2006 TASB/TASA
Exhibit of School Architecture. At the Plano ISD Board of Trustees'
September 5 meeting, representatives of PBK Architects presented
awards to the school board and McCall Principal
Cathy Taylor.
This
McCall project will be displayed in the 46th Annual TASA/TASB Convention
in Houston as well as
being showcased in a traveling display across the State of
Texas through May 2007.
Submitted projects may be recognized in one or more of the five
following areas: Design, Educational Appropriateness, Innovation,
Process of Planning and Value.
McCall has been recognized in the Value category. The criteria
used in judging the Value category included:
- Energy
efficiency and environmental solutions
- Life-cycle cost efficiency
- Cost per square foot
- Flexibility, adaptability, and/or expandability
- Creative use
of materials
- Community multipurpose use of space
- Site development
