Alex Schell, III, son of the school namesake, shared stories about his father with dedication guests, including this direct quote from his father's 1950's will:
"My worldly goods are small in value but I have enjoyed serving my fellow man and loving my family. There is so much to life besides money; everyone owes a part of himself to his community, state, and nation, and by rendering honest, upright service to ALL (not just a select few) can give you pleasure and satisfaction of a job well done."
~Alexander Robertson Schell, Jr.
