Plano East Student Artists Win Congressional Awards
June 5, 2009
The Congressional Art Contest, launched in 1982, was coordinated by Members of Congress to recognize original artwork by students all over the United States. Each congressional member hosts a local competition, and the winning artwork from each district then travels to Washington, D.C., to be displayed for one year in the U.S. Capital Building’s Cannon Tunnel.
Congratulations to the following Plano East Senior High School students whose art was selected for this prestigious award and who were honored at an awards ceremony hosted by Congressman Sam Johnson’s office in April.
