Two Plano Teams Win 1st Place
at DI Global Event in Tennessee

Two Plano ISD teams from Aldridge Elementary School and Plano Senior High School placed 1st in their challenge and level at the Global Destination ImagiNation Tournament held recently during a six-day tournament at the University of Tennessee. 10,000 students from all 50 states and 8 additional countries competed.

PACE Teacher Nancy Harrison, stated, " Globals was an extraordinary experience for our team. They practiced for hours each week to perfect their performance. They showed resilience and worked hard to make it just right.
"DI has made such an important impact on the team members. Their “on the spot” problem solving and creative solutions have improved throughout the year. The experience of working with a team, listening and creating solutions will serve them well all their lives."
Chris Dunkle, Aldridge assistant principal, noted, "The DI Global Competition was a wonderful opportunity to not only see the creative solutions to challenges, but to also witness the way students worked as a team.
"The chance to see students with various strengths, experiences and backgrounds come together for a common purpose was incredible. Students listened to one another, utilized each others strengths and produced tremendous results."
Student Dodge Goette said, "My experiences on DI have been awesome. It challenges you to do better and you usually do. Ever since I joined DI I’ve had ups and downs, but I still pulled it off. That’s why I like DI."
