Memorial Elementary School "Bobcat Buddies" planned, made banners and flyers, manned drop-off locations, counted, did skits on morning announcements and, finally, packed up cars to take 1,890 canned food items to the Plano Food Pantry. Carol Truscott, Buddies sponsor, said of the students, "They used technology to publicize their event, met with the office manager to have the drive listed on the school marquee and in the calendar and newsletter. Students also collaborated with the school's campus technology assistant to ensure that the food drive was posted on Memorial's Web site home page. They spent endless lunch and recess periods to accomplish all of this." |
