Four Plano ISD Campuses Make TBEC Honor Roll for Third Year
September 11, 2008
For the third consecutive year, Plano ISD's Mathews Elementary School, Skaggs Elementary School, Rice Middle School and Jasper High School have made the list of TBEC Honor Roll Schools .
The TBEC (Texas Business and Education Coalition) award recognizes schools for academic performance and honors those students, teachers, principals and superintendents who have won their championships in the classroom.
TBEC identifies honor roll schools by analyzing three years of performance data for every public school in Texas. Honor roll schools have a high percentage of students meeting state standards on every TAKS test for three consecutive years.
They also have the highest percentage of students performing at the state’s most rigorous standard - commended - in every subject.
The selection criteria also considers the school’s demographics, number of subjects tested and grade levels.
TBEC will recognize 298 of Texas’ most outstanding schools at its Ninth Annual Honor Roll Schools Celebration awards dinner on November 10 in San Antonio, following a half-day seminar for school attendees.
