Danny Modisette to Return July 27 as District's Deputy Superintendent

July 21, 2009

Danny ModisetteSuperintendent of Schools Dr. Doug Otto recently announced the reappointment of Danny Modisette as the Plano Independent School District’s deputy superintendent. Mr. Modisette will fill the position left vacant by Jeff Bailey in April. His start date is Monday, July 27. “I couldn't be more pleased to have Danny return to the Plano ISD family,” Dr. Otto said. “He simply has an extraordinary contribution to offer, and I am pleased to have him back on the team.”

Mr. Modisette spent twenty-eight of his thirty-seven years in public education at Plano ISD. During that time, he served as a teacher, coach and assistant principal at Clark High School, five years as principal at Haggard Middle School, two years as executive director of human resources and seven years as deputy superintendent. Mr. Modisette retired in 2007 and spent his time away fostering his advocacy of public education and expanding his expertise in strategic planning.

“Over the last two years, I have had the opportunity to work with school districts and communities across our state and nation. I am inspired by the work I see in preparing students to create their own future in our rapidly changing world,” said Mr. Modisette. “I was constantly reflecting on my home, Plano ISD, and the great vision that our community has for children. I am so excited to return full time as a member of the ‘Teamwork for Excellence’ that is Plano ISD.”

Before joining the staff of Plano ISD in 1979, Mr. Modisette taught social studies in Goose Creek ISD (1970-1976) and Silsbee ISD (1976-1979). Mr. Modisette earned a Bachelor of Science degree from East Texas State University in 1970 and a Master of Education degree in public school administration from the University of North Texas in 1982.
