Six Plano Students Win Awards in State Geography Poster Contest

Six Plano ISD students captured awards in the Texas Alliance for Geographic Education's statewide poster contest. The theme was "Europe Beyond Borders: Exploring the Physical & Cultural Landscape." These Plano ISD students were among 16 state winners who competed in categories for K-2, 3-5, 6-8 & 9-12. First place winners and their teachers in each category were recognized at an awards ceremony held in November, 2009, at the state capitol complex in Austin.

Parents, school and district administrators, state legislators and representatives from state education agencies were invited to participate in the Austin awards ceremony, which was hosted by Dr. Richard Boehm, co-coordinator of the Texas Alliance for Geographic Education.
