PSHS Athletic Staff Recognized
for Actions to Save Student's Life

The Plano ISD School Board on September 1 recognized the heroic efforts of Plano Senior High School athletics staff who applied their skills and training to save a student's life this year.
Chris Reynolds, Phil Parlin and Jeff Vines were honored, along with City of Plano emergency responders and officials from Medical Center of Plano, where the student was transported.

Trustees adopted the following resolution and presented all honorees with certificates of appreciation.
School Board Resolution
Whereas, Plano ISD believes the safety and security of students are of the utmost importance;
Whereas, Plano Senior High School staff members Chris Reynolds, Phil Parlin and Jeff Vines were called upon to apply their training in a life threatening situation;
Whereas, these staff members acted quickly and skillfully to sustain a student’s life until emergency responders arrived on the scene;
Whereas, the emergency medical technicians of the City of Plano arrived promptly and administered lifesaving actions and transported the student to Medical Center of Plano;
Whereas, Medical Center of Plano was effectively prepared to receive and provide urgent care to the patient;
Whereas, all parties worked in concert to preserve the spirit of sportsmanship while upholding the highest standards of safety and well-being;
Therefore, be it resolved, that the Board of Trustees of the Plano Independent School District recognizes Chris Reynolds, Phil Parlin and Jeff Vines of Plano Senior High School; the City of Plano; and Medical Center of Plano and commends their heroic efforts that saved the life of a student.
