Plano ISD Diversity Leadership Award Nominations Due Dec. 7

MLK, Jr.Plano ISD’s Diversity Advisory Committee is seeking nominations through December 7 for its 12th Annual Diversity Leadership Awards. Winners will be announced at Plano ISD’s Martin Luther King, Jr., Tribute to be held on January 24, 2013, at Williams High School, 1717 17th Street in Plano.

Nominations will be solicited from students, staff members and Plano ISD community members. The nomination form may be downloaded in either Microsoft Word or Adobe PDF formats.

Mail nominations on or before 5:00 p.m. on December 7, to:

Nominees may include an individual or group whose program or initiative has proven to promote diversity through stronger relationships, improved communication and enhanced understanding within Plano ISD or the broader community within the past year.

Key components of the Diversity Leadership Award Include:

  • Promoting diversity in the district and/or community
  • Embracing diversity in the district and/or community
  • Educating the district and or community about diversity

Categories may includue:

  • Student or Student Group*
  • Plano ISD Individual or Group
  • Community Individual or Group

*Students may also nominate themselves.

The Plano ISD Diversity Advisory Committee consists of Plano ISD staff and community members who focus attention on school district programs and/or issues regarding race, religion, ethnicity or disability-related situation, studying various programs based on the needs of the community and student body.
