The Board of Trustees launched the scheduled five-year revision of the Strategic Plan in August 2012. The district engaged Danny Modisette of N2 Learning to facilitate the process.
A time line resulted in monthly meetings for a variety of purposes such as board training, board and cabinet joint work, gathering input from city leaders and conducting focus groups with segments of the Plano ISD community including students, parents, non-parents, retirees, volunteers, faith leaders and corporate citizens.
As the Board of Trustees has now considered the input of approximately 900 responses from seven focus groups and authored the Strategic Plan according to their priorities as trustees on behalf of their constituents for the betterment of the entire Plano ISD community, the plan was presented in draft form and provided as the focus of a public hearing at the school board's April 2, 2013, meeting. Three speakers spoke during the public hearing.
Trustees are scheduled to adopt the strategic plan at their May 7 meeting. The agenda, with links to supporting documents, is posted on BoardBook.
