Plano Senior High School Team Champions at International Public Policy Forum in NYC

A team of Plano Senior High School students bested a field of high school teams from around the globe on April 2 in New York City, winning the 15th Annual International Public Policy Forum debate and a $10,000 grand prize. The event is sponsored by the Brewer Foundation and New York University. The top "Elite 8" high schools competed at the finals after emerging from a field that began with hundreds of teams. They debated the topic “Resolved: Genetically modified organisms are essential to global food security.” read

Several Plano ISD students, including "Best of Show" winner Kevin Meng of Robinson Middle School (pictured with teacher Laurie Koss), captured top awards at the Texas Science and Engineering Fair held March 31-April 2. Among the supporters in San Antonio to congratulate student participants were teachers, parents and district administrators, including Superintendent of Schools Dr. Brian Binggeli and Secondary Science Coordinator Karen Shepherd. Student Artworks Selected for Display through April 17 in 'Young Masters Exhibit' at Dallas Museum of Art

Twenty-one original studio artworks, six musical compositions and two art history essays created by Plano ISD senior high school students are on view through April 17 in the O'Donnell Foundation's 18th Annual Young Masters Exhibition at the Dallas Museum of Art. The exhibition features works created by Advanced Placement (AP) Studio Art, Art History and Music Theory students from 10 Dallas-area high schools participating in the O'Donnell Foundation's AP Arts Incentive Program. read

Bond Proposal Information Meetings to be Hosted by Superintendent at High Schools April 13, 25 & 28

Plano ISD community members are invited to attend any of a series of information meetings being hosted this spring about the district's May 7 bond election proposal. Superintendent of Schools Dr. Brian Binggeli will present information and answer questions. Meetings are being held from 6:30 to 8:00 p.m. at the district's high schools. Remaining meeting dates are April 13, 25 and 28. Read the full schedule. read
