Dear Plano ISD eNews Subscriber:
You are invited to bring a “brown bag lunch” and join the Plano ISD Key Communicators at 11:30 a.m. this Friday, March 14, at the Sockwell Center, 6301 Chapel Hill Blvd., for a presentation about the school district’s $490 million bond proposal.
At the meeting, members of the school district leadership team will share details of the following proposal, which will be presented to voters in a May 10, 2008, bond election.
Pre-funded Projects - $27,850,000
New Construction - $140,855,112
20 year renovations - $121,166,629
Additions and modifications - $62,182,369
Capital Improvements / Instruction - $10,497,000
Capital Improvements / Physical - $25,203,500
Systems and compliance (47 sites) - $36,154,394
Curriculum & Technology - $66,090,996
Total - $490,000,000

Community members are also invited to Carpenter Middle School’s Family Fun Jam to be held from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 29, at the school, 1501 Cross Bend in Plano. The second-annual event will include musical entertainment, a family 5K walk, food, bounce houses, silent auction, arts and crafts, and local vendor booths. Funds raised will help promote the school’s family involvement programs, school spirit and fitness.
