Breakfast Logic
Breakfast is a good thing!
When students need to take achievement tests, schools strongly urge them to eat breakfast first on testing days. Why? Because we know that when students eat breakfast, they perform better and are better able to concentrate. Yet on “normal” days, many students fail to eat breakfast: they’re too busy, too tired, or just don’t know what to eat.
Let’s help students to perform better every day, by making sure they eat a healthy breakfast at home or at school.
Three Plano ISD Elementary cafeterias recieves 2011-12 IPM Awards!

Barksdale, Memorial, and Harrington cafeteria and custodial staff members were excited to find out that they were the proud recipients of this year’s IPM Award (Integrated Pest Management Award). David Lewis, the Coordinator of Pest Management for Plano ISD stated that these kitchens have done an exemplary job of not feeding pests, by keeping their kitchens sanitary and clean. Pests require food, water and harborage to survive, so IPM relies on sanitation to manage pest species below established thresholds.
The IPM team wanted to show their appreciation for the extra work and attention to detail that the cafeteria and custodial staff exhibits every week, by presenting them with this award at a ceremony held at their school, and also surprised them by providing lunch that day.
There seems to be no better words to sum up the gratefulness felt by all of the Plano ISD employees towards our cafeteria and custodial staff, than by what David Lewis, Coordinator of Pest Management had to say, “It is kitchens like Barksdale, Memorial and Harrington that have helped Plano ISD Facility Services win State and National recognition over the years. Plano ISD has many things to be proud of, including the unsung heroes of our cafeterias who daily fight the fight to help keep our buildings pest free. After all, Sanitation Is Pest Control.”

serious health concerns. Most fruits and
vegetables do not contain unhealthy fat or cholesterol, and are very low in
calories!
