Paul Weaver Captures Supervisor of the Year
Award from Texas School Counseling Association

Distinguished credentials and a superior ability to advocate for the counseling profession are among the traits that Paul Weaver, Plano ISD director of guidance and counseling, possesses and that enticed judges to select him as Supervisor of the Year for the Texas School Counselor Association. During the past 23 years, Paul has served as a teacher and counselor in Plano schools, remaining actively involved in counseling issues, advocacy and public policy. His dynamic leadership sets him apart in the counseling profession. Read more

Representatives of Plano ISD's 7,000-member employee work force attended an awards luncheon recently in celebration of area businesses and organizations whose employees voted them among the 2009 Best Places to Work in the Dallas/Ft. Worth Metroplex. Read more

Plano ISD alumnus gears up for another great year behind wheel of bus 814

Bus Driver Norm Nicholson drove his wife crazy around the house after he retired ("under foot," he said), so he decided to drive a school bus instead.

Following a career as a data processing instructor for the US Army and twice serving as a company vice-president in the high-tech industry, Norm has elected to put his foot to the pedal for the past nine years, safely transporting students on bus #814.

A 1958 Plano High School graduate who attended all 12 grades at what is now the Cox Building, Norm recalls fond memories of attending school in Plano.
