Plano ISD Education Foundation Surprises Educators with Record $120,000 in 107 Grants to Fund Innovative Programs Across the School District

On November 18, Plano ISD Education Foundation board members, program sponsors, district staff and parent leaders personally delivered a record $120,000 in awards to fund 107 innovative instructional programs. Diversity leadership award nominations due on December 12

Plano ISD’s Diversity Advisory Committee is seeking nominations through December 12 for its 14th Annual Diversity Leadership Awards. Winners will be announced at Plano ISD’s Martin Luther King, Jr., Tribute in January. Nominations are being solicited from students, staff community

Guinn Center Principal Sharon Bradley named 2014 Educator of Year by Plano Community Forum

Sharon Bradley, principal at Guinn Special Programs Center, captured the 2014 Educator of the Year Award, presented by the Plano Community Forum at its 33rd Anniversary Award Gala held in October. The Plano Community Forum is a non-profit organization founded in 1981 to promote cultural enrichment and community involvement. The group also strives to honor and recognize the achievements of minority students and leaders in the community.

“It was a huge surprise and a wonderful feeling to be awarded for doing something that I love to do every day,” Sharon said. read
