The Plano ISD considers a part-time employee to be one who works less than 25 hours per week. (Substitutes, long-term subs, student help, adult temps, volunteers, etc., are not eligible for benefits).

Part-time employees may choose to purchase any of the medical plans offered by Plano ISD, by paying the total monthly rate.

When Can You Enroll?

  1. Within 30 days of starting part-time employment; or
  2. Within 60 days of a qualified change in status; or
  3. During the annual open enrollment period (November) each year, for benefits to begin January 1 of the following year.
