Mr. M. Todd Williams

I am excited and proud to be joining the McMillen school community as your next principal. To serve this outstanding community in this capacity is truly an honor. I am committed to upholding the exemplary qualities that define the McMillen Lions, while instilling a culture that nurtures, inspires and prepares our students for their future.

Professionally, I am beginning my twenty first year in education, the last ten of which are in secondary administration. I earned a Bachelor of Business Administration from Texas Tech University, a Master of Business Administration and a Master of Education from Texas A&M-Commerce and am currently pursuing my Superintendent’s certification through Region X and Texas A&M-Commerce. Like many of you, I am a lifelong student who continues to deepen my own knowledge and stay intellectually curious. I am an educator who believes in the power of teaching and learning to help students pursue a fulfilling and purposeful life.

Prior to being appointed Principal of McMillen, I served students as the Associate Principal of Curriculum and Instruction at Plano West Senior High School. Prior to that, I served as Associate Principal and Assistant Principal at Coronado High School in Lubbock. I began my administrative career at South Garland High School as an Assistant Principal . As a teacher,I taught several courses in Career and Technology. Personally, I am happily married to my college sweetheart and we have two amazing young men.

As you learn more about me, I am confident that you will see that we share similar values. Being a father has helped shape my leadership lens as I view many of the decisions I make from this perspective. While my boys were still in public school, I wanted to make sure that they had educational experiences that helped them develop into the independent thinkers, caring citizens, and self-sufficient adults they are today. I will accomplish this by partnering with parents and our amazing staff to create opportunities for our students so that they have learning experiences that would be to the level of excellence that I would want and expect for my own children.

Additionally, as students make the challenging shift from middle school to high school and high school to the senior high, I will work with our staff to create an environment that encourages student agency and provide students with the skills they need to effectively prepare to be lifelong learners.

I offer you my word to be fully committed and present in our collective efforts, to work relentlessly to achieve our mutual goals, and to consistently demonstrate the resolve needed to pursue what we believe is best for our students. I look forward to partnering with each of you as we strive for excellence. Go Lions!
