Ms. Nancy Pierce
I'm originally from Oklahoma.
I graduated from Northwestern Oklahoma State University with a Bachelor of Arts in Mass Communications with an emphasis in sports broadcasting. I then graduated from Oklahoma State University with a teaching certificate, English endorsement and a Master of Science in Education in Curriculum and Instruction.
I taught 5th grade for 15 years, eleven years in Oklahoma and four years in PISD at Stinson Elementary. For two years, I taught 6th grade ELA/PACE at Murphy and the rest of my time here has been spent in 6th grade ELA. This is my 12th year at Murphy Middle School.
I have two children. Tyler my son is 27. He lives in Montana and works as a chef. He attended Texas A&M and was in the Corps of Cadets. Kaitlyn, my daughter is 22 and will graduate in the spring from Texas A&M in College Station. She is an Education major. She is also a dance teacher at Expressions Dance in College Station. Both of my children attended MMS and Plano East.
I love going to the gym daily, riding my bicycle, watching movies, shopping, listening to live music, watching all sports especially football (college and pro), reading, drinking Starbucks coffee, Netflix, all things Nike, and traveling.
Some fun facts about me:
I was in beauty pageants during my college years and competed in the Miss Oklahoma pageant three years.
I was a cheerleader in high school and college.
I was raised on a cattle farm and know how to herd cattle, drive a truck, and haul hay.
I had my own TV sports show in college where I interviewed players, coaches and gave stats on games. I also was a sports editor for a newspaper and worked as a DJ at a radio station.
