AP Computer Science A

  • This is an entry-level course in Computer Science and Software Engineering.  The main focus is to instruct the student in object oriented programming techniques that can be used to solve a variety of problems.  No previous knowledge of computer programming is assumed.  The tool language to be used is Java.  The course will also include topics such as data structures, hardware components, and social implications of computer usage. The course is designed to prepare the student for the AP Computer Science examination.

    SECOND SEMESTER
    Arrays and ArrayLists/2D Arrays
    Designing Classes
    Interfaces
    Polymorphism
    Inheritance
    File Input/Output and Exceptions
    Recursion
    Algorithms (sorting/searching)
    Final Project Design and Implementation

     

Tutorial Times

  • Students can sign up on the Google Sheet, which is available through the Google Classroom.  If the available times do not work, please make an appointment with Mr. Yee or Mrs. Gallatin.
