Unfold the Season: Annual Holiday Card Contest Results

In the 2017 holiday greeting card contest sponsored by the Plano ISD Education Foundation, almost 1,000 Plano ISD student from preK through twelfth grade entered original artwork reflecting this year's theme Unfold the Season.

From these many beautiful entries, four finalists were selected by a panel of judges, and from these four finalists, a winner was named. See the video of semifinalists, finalists and winning artwork. The winning artwork by Robinson Middle School eighth grade student Saher Kamal is the cover art for the 2017 Plano ISD and Education Foundation holiday greeting card, and the three additional finalists' artwork are featured on the back of the greeting card.

Five Plano Senior High FFA students will advance to the state competition in Leadership Development Events after earning first place in Senior Creed Speaking and second place in Senior FFA Quiz in the Area competition. District winners were announced on November 5.

The UIL Region 10 Congressional Debate Meet was held on November 1 at Princeton High School. Three Plano ISD students qualified for the state competition to be held in Austin on January 8-10.

Huffman Fifth Grade Prepares for Field Trip to Enterprise City

November 9, 2017

At Huffman Elementary, an International Baccalaureate (IB) Primary Years Programme Candidate School, fifth grade students are preparing for a field trip to Enterprise City on December 15. Enterprise City is a one-day simulation which allows student to hold various jobs, learn about personal finance and elect officials. Students learn about real life financial literacy, what it's like to interview for a job or run for office.
