• Capacity Cohorts

  • Are you ready to increase your capacity as a teacher leader?

    Professional Learning is currently offering three capacity cohorts:

    • Google Educator Certification for Teachers
    • Leading Adult Learners for Teachers, Librarians, Campus Specialists
    • Leading Adult Learners for District and Campus Administrators

    Capacity Cohorts are multi-day learning experiences designed to help you develop new knowledge, attitudes, skills, attributes, and behaviors with a cadre of learners. In addition to participating in the learning opportunities with the cohort, you will have the opportunity to implement your learning and receive feedback from others in the group as you work to build capacity.

  • Participation in a Capacity Cohort will: 

    • Provide you with extended learning on the topic at hand.
    • Give you access to resources, coaching, and support.
    • Connect you to other teachers within PISD that share similar goals.
  • Capacity Cohort Application Requirements

  • To apply for participation in a Capacity Cohort, you must: 

    • Have taught for 2 years prior to the current school year.
    • Have a genuine desire to learn and grow. 
    • Be willing to lead learning for others applying what you have learned.
    • Have permission from your Principal or Supervisor.

  • Leading
    Adult Learners

    Goal: Grow your capacity and increase your sense of agency as you lead learning for other educators.

    This experience is designed for educators wanting to develop or continue to develop as skilled designers and faciliators of meaningful learning experiences for adults. We will work through the context, content, and process of planning for professional learning as we focus on best practices, learning designs, and resources. 


    • Teachers, Librarians & Campus-Based Specialists: Nov. 12 and Jan. 14
      • Participants will engage in two days of learning and will be asked to facilitate a session on Feb. 1 at PISD's Trade Learning Saturday. 
    • District Administrators, Principals, and Assistant Principals: Oct. 15 and Nov. 19

  • Google Educator
    Certification Cohort

    Goal: Grow your capacity and increase your sense of agency as you maximize your ability to successfully integrate technology into your classroom instruction. 

    Participants will have the opportunity to engage in professional learning as they move sequentially through the Google for Education certification program with the support of Instructional Technology, Professional Learning, and each other.

    Plano ISD will help prepare each cohort with training and coaching. Participants will support their campus with training and support as we work to integrate technology into the classroom with Google Drive, Chromebooks, and Google Classroom. Both Level 1 and Level 2 Google Certifications are offered. 

    Meeting Dates: October 29 and March 17.
