  • Virtual Goal Group

    The TPG/SLO (Teacher Professional Goal/Student Learning Outcome) process is inherently personal and a way for educators to focus on their professional growth. Virtual Goal Groups are courses held in Canvas for educators to learn-apply-reflect on a topic that helps to move work and thinking forward regarding your T-TESS TPG/SLO (Teacher Professional Goal/Student Learning Outcome), while connecting with peers across the district.

    The "Classroom Environment" Goal Group will be available for 3 separate cycles of learning, You may join this Goal Group more than once in the same year. Each Goal Group Session can count for up to 2 hours of Professional Learning credit based on your participation. Once in the course, you will select one of the topics below to focus your learning:

    • Building Classroom Community
    • Classroom Routines & Procedures
    • Social Emotional Learning
    • Classroom Discussion Strategies
    • Fostering Student Independence & Self- Directed Learning
    • Student Collaboration & Cooperative Learning

    To sign up, log-in to PowerSchool Develop and search for "Goal Groups". Once you are registered, you will be invited to the Canvas course. Information on accessing the course will be send and you will be on your way to learning with a cross-district team of like-minded teachers!

    • Cycle 1 will run Sept-Oct
    • Cycle 2 will run Nov-Jan
    • Cycle 3 will run Feb-March.

  • Extended Learning Opportunity

  • Learning Labs

    Join a learning lab designed to support teachers striving to grow in Classroom Management through observation and on-going peer mentoring. Teachers can apply with the support of their principal, or a principal may enroll teachers directly by contacting the Professional Learning Department.

    The experience begins with a one-day workshop that includes teaming, classroom observations across grade levels, brainstorming, and reflecting. Participants have the opportunity to attend follow-up team meetings that will be hosted by individual learning lab player-coaches. Player-coaches are current classroom teachers who have proven to be highly effective in Domain 3 and who have volunteered to serve as peer mentors.

    Trade hours will be awarded for all after school follow-up meetings. Teacher can only participate in one Learning Lab unless instructed otherwise given permission by their principal.

    Registration will be available in PowerSchool Develop for the following Learning Labs:

    • October 16, 2019
    • November 5, 2019
    • December 3, 2019
    • January 23, 2020
