Elementary Education with Science of Teaching Reading (1-6) ESL Supplemental Texas Reading Academies

Ms. Riley LaCoume

My name is Riley LaCoume, and I am an Instructional Support Teacher here at Meadows Elementary. In this role, I am able to assist and give support to students and teachers in Reading and Math. Previously, I worked in Carrollton-Farmers Branch ISD as a 2nd grade ESL Math, Science, Social Studies and Language Development teacher in a dual/ESL language program with my partner teacher who taught Bilingual Reading and Writing. I graduated from Oklahoma State University with a bachelor's degree in Elementary Education and I am happy to return to the Plano area to further my educational career!

I am a graduate of Plano ISD schools, beginning at Daffron Elementary, then I attended Robinson Middle School, Jasper High School, and lastly, Plano West Senior High School. I have always wanted to return to Plano schools because I know how amazing our district is, and it has held such a special place in my heart! I remember wanting to become a teacher ever since elementary school because of the lasting impact my teachers have had upon me throughout my years in Plano.

I am thrilled to join the Meadows staff and to work with teachers and students to ensure that our learners are set up for success! I know that the 22-23 school year will be a year of great learning, lots of fun and excitement, and getting to help each other learn new things!
