Jigyasa Sethi - Assistant Principal

Degrees and Certifications:

Jigyasa Sethi - Assistant Principal

This is my second year as the Assistant Principal at Rasor. I love our students, staff, and families and feel very fortunate that I am a part of this warm and welcoming community. My educational philosophy is rooted in the simple fact that I want to grow people. I believe that there is untapped potential in every child and adult I will meet in my lifetime. It is my goal to challenge, motivate, and empower individuals to achieve to the best of their abilities.

I was born in New Delhi, India and moved to the United States when I was a senior in high school. I graduated from Northern Illinois University, majoring in Biology, and went on to get a degree in Prosthetics and Orthotics from UT Southwestern. I received my teacher certification from UTD and have a Master's degree in Educational Leadership from UNT. I have previously taught 3rd and 5th grades and have been an ESL Specialist in Plano ISD.

I am a lifelong learner and I love to read. My family also loves to travel. I, along with my husband and children, have traveled extensively within the United States and across 4 continents. Most of my recent travels, however, have been to the Austin area as my son, a Plano graduate, is studying at UT. My daughter is currently a senior in high school and plans to attend Texas A & M. We may just be a house divided next year!
