Hello! My name is Amanda Smith and I'm starting my 10th year at Shepton. I've been with Plano ISD since 2009 and am a graduate of Plano East. I love to read, garden, travel, and be a mom and grandmom. I love all things Disney! I graduated from the University of Phoenix with a Bachelor's Degree in Psychology. I started my educational career by working as a paraprofessional at Guinn Special Programs Center. I enjoyed working with special education students at that school and originally wanted to work as a counselor. The counselor I had in high school made a huge impact on my life. Once I got to work in the classroom, I decided I didn't want to leave it. I got my teaching certificate through ACT Dallas in Special Education. I have worked as a Behavior Specialist, Transition Specialist, MAPS teacher, Peer Assistant, World History, and World Geography teacher over the last 9 years. This year, I am the Special Education Department Head.
