Annual Report
Letter from Plano ISD Leadership
Dear Plano ISD Community:
On behalf of our Board of Trustees and leadership team, we are honored to present the 2024-25 Annual Report, celebrating 125 years of Plano ISD. This year’s theme, “Team Plano ISD: Winning for Kids,” encompassed the spirit of unity and excellence that defines our district.
Our students stacked up wins by excelling at every level, earning state, national and international awards in academics, arts and athletics. We continued to expand opportunities, from launching the new Wildcat Collegiate Academy, honoring our first graduating TONI&GUY Hairdressing Academy cohort, breaking ground for our new Career and Technical Education Center, to record participation in Advanced Placement, International Baccalaureate and dual credit courses. Over 21,000 students earned the Superintendent Scholar Award for meeting our rigorous college readiness benchmarks, compared to 18,123 in 2023-24.
Seventh grade student Faizan Zaki won the prestigious 2025 Scripps National Spelling Bee championship in June 2025, competing in 21 rounds against the top spellers in the country. We also celebrated our outstanding staff with new recognition programs, state and nationally recognized coaches, the first graduate from our “QuEST” grow-your-own, teaching program, six new National Board Certified Teachers and more!
Our achievements this year were made possible by the strong partnerships we share with families, local businesses and the entire Plano ISD community. In collaboration with the Plano ISD Education Foundation, we expanded opportunities and support for students and staff, from classroom resources to academic enrichment. We look forward to building on this momentum and helping every student succeed in the years ahead.
Thank you to every member of Team Plano ISD for your commitment to our students as we mark 125 years of educational excellence.
Together, we are truly “winning for kids” and building a bright future for all.
Sincerely,
Dr. Theresa Williams | Superintendent
Nancy Humphrey | Board President

Superintendent Dr. Theresa Williams and Board President Nancy Humphrey were honored at the 2024 Best of Plano Awards receiving the Athena Leadership Award and the Distinguished Leadership Award, respectively.
