About Our Board of Trustees
The Plano ISD Board of Trustees has seven elected members who serve overlapping four-year terms without compensation. The board operates within state and federal legal guidelines and is responsible for providing the best possible education for district students.
Trustees make final decisions on district priorities, policies, textbooks, expenditures, and growth management. They adopt the annual budget, levy taxes to fund operations and present bond proposals to voters for construction projects. The board also hires and evaluates the superintendent.
